I took my first yoga class in Australia in 2001. Within my first few classes, I discovered a newfound sense of calm and balance in my body I had never experienced before. From there, began a lifelong journey into the practice of yoga that would help me connect more deeply with my own internal strength, peace and wisdom.
Coming from a background in competitive figure skating, I was first inspired by the practice for its all encompassing nature - it challenged me physically, pointing out areas where I was strong but also helped me discover areas of weakness and imbalance. Over time, old injuries started to heal ~ I found support for my ongoing scoliosis and discovered a newfound sense of strength and balance in my body.
As I moved into a career of professional acting in film and television, my yoga practice became even more foundational. The process of linking breath with movement and the meditation skills I learned helped me become more calm, present and deeply connected while working in the high pressure environment of a film set.
The journey of becoming a teacher took time and was something I had never really planned for. I guess you could say it found me... As my practice deepened over years and I became aware of the difference yoga was making in my life and the difference I saw it make in countless others around me, I felt inspired to share it with others. In 2017 & 2018, I took my teacher training and became certified in Hatha, Power, Flow, YHot and Yin. Since then I have guided 1000's of students in this transformative practice, offering classes focused on alignment, empowerment, and applying yogic principles in everyday life. I am awe-inspired every day by my students and the transformative nature of yoga. It is very simple, yet very deep and profound. Through breath and asana, we learn to connect more deeply with our innate internal strength, peace and wisdom of body and mind.
